In the city centre of Groningen, at the Westerhaven (near Primark and between Nike and Hema) you will find the best coffee shop in Groningen. For years we have been a household name for coffee and tea lovers in Groningen and surroundings.

We are happy to advise and answer all your questions, both business and private, about coffee, tea, coffee machines and maintenance.

In our extensive tasting room there is enough space for a nice bite and drink. This is accompanied by atmospheric music in the background and a newspaper, magazine or phone in hand.

Do you have an espresso machine, but still struggle to make a really good espresso? No time or interest in attending a physical barista workshop? Then the online barista workshop is perfect for you.

Is your espresso too sour or too bitter?
Are you unable to properly froth milk, or does it turn into soapy foam?
You’re not alone — and usually, it’s not your machine.

During a 1-on-1 online barista workshop of 60 minutes, we will look at your setup together: your machine, your beans, and your challenges.

Three practical workshops with a shared foundation – choose your coffee direction! Workshop requests by email only: groningen@kaldi.nl.

Each workshop starts with a short theoretical section about coffee beans:

• The journey of the coffee bean: from plant to roasted bean
• Processing methods & branding
• How these choices influence the flavour

Then we dive into practice – tailored to the chosen topic:

1 | Espresso Workshop – The basics of everything

– Setting up the mill & machine
– Processing time, dosage, and grinding degree
– Make your own perfect espresso

2 | Latte Art Workshop – Flavour and presentation

– Repeating espresso as a base
– Making milk foam with the right texture
– Practicing with heart, rosette, and tulip

3 | Brewing methods Workshop – Slow coffee, big differences

– Get acquainted with V60, Chemex, French Press, Kees van der Westen, and more
– Variation in grind sizes & extraction times
