Limescale is the biggest enemy of all household appliances that use tap water. To extend the life of your Coffee machine and keep the taste of your coffee good, it is best to use descaling tablets or liquid descaler that will remove limescale and spare your appliance.

How should I descale my espresso machine?
Every espresso machine is different, but the descaling process is virtually the same for every machine. First, read the instructions for use of the descaling agent you will be using.
- Remove the water filter from the water tank, if it is in there. Fill your machine's water tank and add a descaling tablet, or liquid. The water with the descaling agent will go through the boiler and the rest of your machine. It is important that the detergent goes through your steam nozzle, cleaning it as well.
- When you have finished descaling the espresso machine, empty the reservoir and fill it with just water and run the water through the boiler, pipes and steam nozzle once more. We do this to make sure that all residue of the cleaning agent has been flushed out of the machine.
- When you finish rinsing the machine, smell the water coming out of the machine carefully. If there is still an odor of descaling agent on the water, or if the water is a little troweling, rinse the machine again.
When the water is clear and you no longer smell detergent, you are ready to make coffee again.
