I am so fond of tea that has been flavoured without artificial aromas or sweeteners. Today I want to tell you about such a tea; it's a tea I've had on my shelf for a few months now, and which consistently finds its way into my teapot.
To be honest, I was under the impression that I had already written something about this lovely, sweet tea, but nothing could be further from the truth. So, here it is. The tea is called Zwarte Magie (Black Magic), and it comes from the coffee and tea shop Kaldi. As the name suggests, it's a black tea with a magical touch. This touch is created by various blossoms: sunflower, jasmine, mallow (a very beautiful purple flower), and rose blossom. This gives the tea a very beautiful appearance; just seeing the tea gives you a bit of a spring feeling, and tasting it amplifies that feeling even more.
As I mentioned earlier, it's a tea that is quite sweet on its own. You can definitely taste the blackness of the tea, but the flowers cannot be missed. The scent is very strong, the taste slightly less so. But a large part of taste is also scent, which Kaldi cleverly utilizes, ensuring the tea doesn't become too sweet.
It's a very accessible tea that you can easily serve to people who normally use tea bags. You don't want to overwhelm them with the explosion of flavour that loose leaf tea can cause, so this is definitely a recommendation for such moments! And for the experienced tea drinker, it's also a delightful tea to stimulate the taste buds.
