Kaldi Heemstede has been named 'Franchisee of the Year 2020'!
This award recognizes the dedication of Kaldi entrepreneurs Peter & Sonja Houssart, who were the first Kaldi branch to break the magical annual turnover threshold of € 500,000.

Last Tuesday, February 9, the annual New Year's meeting for Kaldi franchisees took place online. The 'Franchisee of the Year 2020' was announced via a video. Houssart accepted the rotating trophy.

In 2020, the year Kaldi celebrated its 20th anniversary, Kaldi was also confronted with Covid-19, which required all activities to be adjusted and everything became uncertain. As a coffee & tea specialty store, Kaldi fell under essential shops, and fortunately, all branches were allowed to remain open. All entrepreneurs showed such dedication, passion, and creativity that we were able to conclude 2020 well.

As Kaldi, we are proud of our entrepreneurs, and as an extra token of appreciation, each year we name an entrepreneur who has distinguished themselves as 'Kaldi franchisee of the year'.

Kaldi Heemstede celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and with tireless effort and, above all, attention to their customers, Peter & Sonja have built a flourishing business.

In 2020, they were even the first branch to break the magical milestone of an annual turnover exceeding € 500,000. 'Well deserved, this award,' said Hans Tietema, founder of Kaldi: 'Peter and Sonja were very happy and surprised with this award, and Peter expressed his gratitude to the organization, his family, customers, and fellow colleagues during the meeting, concluding his speech with the sentence: One for all, all for one. With this, he effectively described the power of Kaldi.'
