Drinking coffee also lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. By drinking 2 cups a day, you not only reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, but by drinking 5 cups a day, you reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by as much as 30%. Athletes also benefit greatly from a nice cup of coffee. Drinking coffee can actually help athletes perform better because it gives them more energy. Additionally, coffee can help reduce muscle soreness. This allows you to start your workout again sooner.

Losing weight with black coffee

Finally, coffee is said to give your fat burning a boost. Coffee contains various substances that are believed to help with this. One of these substances is called epinephrine. Epinephrine ensures that fatty acids are released and prepared to leave the body. Another substance found in coffee is called chlorogenic acid. This substance lowers your blood sugar level after a meal. Chlorogenic acid ensures that less insulin is released in your body, and the less insulin, the better you can burn fat.
